For six months now, many of our young adults have been working to build community in our railroad city centered on truth, goodness, and beauty — the three ways in which God reveals Himself to us. During this holy season of Lent, we are thrilled to invite people of all ages to join us for a special evening of sacred music and fellowship in Altoona’s crowning jewel the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament - Altoona PA

Join us on March 13, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. as our young adult community presents The Cathedral Candlelight Concert. This free, 60-minute Lenten program will feature some of the area’s most talented Catholic young adult musicians including vocalists, instrumentalists, and organists, highlighting the Cathedral’s historic 83-rank Steinmeyer organ, one of only two of its kind in North America.

The program will include familiar Lenten hymns and chorales, settings of ancient chants, and beloved sacred works such as Be Thou My Vision, Out of the Depths I Cry to Thee, Attende Domine, Kyrie Eleison, Pie Jesu, Adagio for Strings, Ave Maria, and Pater Noster, along with other prayerful selections chosen to help us enter more deeply into the Lenten season.

Following the concert, all in attendance are invited and encouraged to join us for a social in the Cathedral parish hall, an opportunity to gather and grow together as a community of all ages.
