Facing loss is one of the hardest moments in life — and it’s also where the Church can be most present.
Across our diocese, parish outreach ministries supported by CMD aren't limited to material assistance like meals or resources. They also provide pastoral presence, prayer, and spiritual accompaniment for individuals and families in times of deepest need.
Faith-based support has been shown to offer emotional and spiritual benefits that secular systems can’t easily replicate, particularly when people feel isolated or overwhelmed .
Through CMD’s support:
Parish outreach volunteers connect people with compassionate care
Priests and deacons offer sacramental support and pastoral counseling
Lay ministry teams provide prayer, community, and accompaniment
This is the heart of CMD’s mission: to make sure that no one walks alone, especially when grief touches their life.
