Priest and Deacon formation in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown is supported through
the Catholic Ministries Drive and is central to our shared diocesan mission. Through this
support, the following ministries help form and sustain our clergy:
Seminarian Formation and the Vocations Office, including tuition and other
support for seminarians, as well as ongoing promotion of vocationsFormation of Permanent Deacons, including initial and ongoing formation costs,
continuing spiritual retreats, educations materials, liturgical supplies and other
program expensesClergy Support, providing ongoing pastoral formation through spiritual and
educational retreats, and well as support for retired priests through programs
such as St Leonard’s Home
