Evangelization ministries help individuals and families grow in their relationship with Christ and the Church. Through faith formation, outreach, and engagement, these efforts support parishes as they welcome people at every stage of life and help faith take root in meaningful ways.
What This Ministry Supports
Evangelization focuses on forming disciples, strengthening parish life, and creating opportunities for people to encounter and grow in faith throughout the diocese.
Why It Matters
Strong parishes are built on active faith communities. Evangelization helps ensure our Church continues to teach, welcome, and walk with people as they grow in faith.
See the Impact
Evangelization in the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown is supported through the Catholic
Ministries Drive and is central to our shared diocesan mission. Through this support, we
carry out evangelization through the following ministries:
Proclaim!, our communications outreach, including a quarterly magazine, weekly
TV show, E-News and FlocknoteCampus Ministries at 5 non-Catholic college campuses
Youth Ministry, offering retreats such as SHYCON and events like Camp
ZaccheusParish & Family Life, supporting sacramental preparation, special Masses
throughout the year, and the Office of LiturgyDirect Evangelization, including diocesan conferences, Eucharistic Revival
presentations, and Jubilee activities
